Here is the ship we have been waiting for to take us to Galveston for our Guff of Mexico cruise. IT was cheaper to pay them a pick up fee of $ 40 than to pay $ 50 for parking for a week at the Galveston ramp.  We gave all the crew a free beer. When the cruise ship got stuck we loaned the  Neighbor the Devlin's a long rope to pull them out with their canoe.

Here is the original  bayou equipment.
It floats on the air in the big  tires.

Here is a slide show by Dean Costis who was kayaking down the Bayou with his son and a friend. Click on the words "Slide Show."

To determine the highest level the water had ever been on the flag poles I ran a site line on the ground where the water had been to determine the height of the water in the bayou. If the water gets  3 feet  higher than the top of the flag pole we are a potential candidate for flooding. We do not carry flood insurance.

Friends help move it into place on 2   2 wheel dollies tied together. We dumped it over the edge and it landed perfectly.
With the weight of that piece it is not something that we wanted to move around

This is for real. It was alive. I do not know what it was. It is some animal in some stage  of development cocooning or something.

Please help me identify this beautiful creature hanging around the bayou.. This is not a morphing trick.

11

These are the red  $80 used stairs going to the bayou as we initially installed the steel piece weighing about 600 lbs

20Rosemary's 155 people ETM party found good used of the canoe and the canoe ramp. They are standing on level 2 of my dock. Eventually the dock will go another 50 feet across the bayou  after I get done building the vertical final section on level 5.  Ropes help slide the canoe down the canoe ramp onto level 2 of the dock.
18

The Airboat going down stream  creates quite a wake.

When we dropped it down the bank it ended up like this will  a few tiny adjustments to make it work.  The entire dock would not be built if it were not for these handy stairs.

This ladder used to be laying against the dirt wall. Due to erosion we lost about 20 feet of land real-estate. The purpose of the dock was to prevent further erosion with out making
the landscaping look significantly bad.

These yellow pipes were once dividers for office room division which were acquired at the price of scrap steel.  Before erosion the ladder used to lean ageist a dirt wall.
Now the bayou is wider and deeper.
It almost has to be to handle the greater amount of water downstream caused
by more concrete for
 urban development.

32
If you leave your canoe ties to a tree and the tatter come up pushing the canoe on both side of the true eventually if will ear a nice dent  in your canoe. This stayed visible from the Red-Stairs area for about a year and then I guess some neighbor got tire of it or just took it down and fixed it.

21  We buried this giant piece of concrete
rather than move it.

This fiber glass canoe is very wide and very heavy.  It will hold a good sized
group safely .

22
The blue pipe are hammock holders The time I have for laying in the hammock is  far less than what it should be.

Loading the canoes is easiest from the dock  closest to the water.

23
Teenagers loved to give canoe rides to the
 other ETM younger members.

Do I look happy.?

24
We
took 8 trips up the bayou.

We need a motor for this Canoe.

25
I wonder if there is a limit on how many
bodies you can put in this canoe.

We want to come down and feed
 the catfish dog food.

26
Here, Let me take your picture before you fall into Buffalo Bayou.

Level 4 was built to hold the wall to prevent dirt from washing down on level 3 which required significant effort in  clean up.
